Yuna- as a whole

Lady Yunalesca was the legendary first summoner who defeated Sin a thousand years prior to the start of the game. That is where Yuna gets her name. However, it turns out that the Lady Yunalesca and her group are just rotten down to the core and did not defeat Sin, but used it as a cover up to keep New Yevon going.

Who is Yuna? Well, to start off with the basics: Her father was a Yevonite while her mother was an Al Bhed. Besides, that, who is Yuna? Well, she is a delicate woman, but she is also a strong individual. She doesn't back away from her pilgrimage when she learns the truth behind Yevon. She doesn't even back away from it when Tidus offers to "take" her to his Zanarkand. She even keeps her strength with her by hiding her sorrow with her smile. Everywhere she goes, she always has a smile on her face. There is not one moment that someone would not see her sad, except at the Macalania Woods located at the Spring.

Yuna has a strong resolve, a dedication that will make her stop at nothing. She knew what being a summoner is about, but did that stop her from carrying out her pilgrimage? No. she was determined to bring peace to Spira. Even after learning about the false hope, the lies behind Yevon, Yuna was still determine to finish her pilgrimage. When she arrived at Mt. Gagazet, she proved to the Ronso how strong and determined she was on continuing on her pilgrimage, even if she knew the truth behind Yevon. She had nothing left, but she was willing to give everything just to bring peace to Spira.

Summoner Yuna, your will is stronger than steel. Tempered steel that even the mightiest Ronso could not hope to bend. Yuna, we bow to your will! Now go! The sacred heights of Gagazet welcome you.

Yuna is a simple person. She is sensitive and somewhat naive. She is willing to sacrifice everything to bring peace. Her determination is what makes Yuna who she is. She is fragile on the outside, but strong on the inside.

"It would be so easy...to let my fate just carry me away...following this same path my whole life through. But I know...I can't. What I do, I do...with no regrets."
